Joel Sindelar, Conductor (11/15/12)
Joel Sindelar, leader of the annual Boston Christmas Caroling Mob, is a trained and experienced choral director (MM Conducting, N.E.C., 2001) who can help get your caroling party or expedition off the ground. Either with a guitar in the folk tradition or with a baton teaching parts (or both), Joel's enthusiasm and joie de vivre will brighten any party and keep your carolers warm between ports of call. $150/first hour, $50/ half hour after that. (Hire our quartet and have section leaders! Contact Beantown Carolers, above)
Su Eaton (of Magical Creations) and Joel Sindelar and are available either as a pair or individually to sing for your children's Holiday parties. Experienced children's entertainers, Su has been entertaining toddlers and preschoolers for the past 10 years (and has a whole vanful of toys and children's costumes); Joel is a favorite with Boston Public Schools K-2nd graders, where he teaches music at the Hurley and JFK schools. $150/first hour (for one of us, $250 for both), $50 each for additional hours.
The Other Georgia sings traditional music from the Republic of Georgia, one of the oldest part-singing traditions in the world. Hauntingly beautiful, similar in flavor to some traditional Baltic folk singing, Georgian music is almost always in three parts and is a favorite of close harmony fans everywhere. The Other Georgia has been enthusiastically received in Boston and New York, at events like Summer Revels, the New England Folk Festival, Balkan Night, The Golden Festival, the Boston Greenfest, and even a rock show with band Incus. $300 for a 45 minute concert. Check out our album on iTunes.
